Novice, 2019-2020 (WALLACE MINOR HOCKEY)

     Wallace travelled to Milverton Friday night to take on Central Perth and came away with a hard fought 5-2 victory.  This marked their 1st full-ice win since switching over in mid-January.  Spencer stood tall in net (literally) and Jahmell & Carter took care of the scoring!  Wingers-Ashlynn, Jaron, Rylee & Chase did a good job of keeping pressure on the puck in the neutral zone.  Both Blake & Deklyn had some good drives in the centre of the ice and Madi & Sophie broke up several opposing drives on Defence.  Great effort Sabres-your hard work is paying off!

     Wallace travelled to Drayton this past Saturday for their Annual Tyler Lopers Memorial Tournament.  Although they came up short in the win column, they had many exciting moments over the course of the day!        Their 2nd game saw them down by a single goal to West Grey with just over a minute and a half remaining.  The Sabres pulled their goalie in an attempt to tie the game, but came up just short giving up an eventual empty netter to seal it.  Players of the game on the day included: Jaron, Jahmell, & Carter.         The kids enjoyed the day on and off the ice and finished with ...

     The Sabres hosted Wingham today and played arguably their best game of the season thus far!  Carter, Jahmell & Rylee scored some nice goals and Jaron once again came up big in net!  Dex, Chase & Blake kept pressure on the puck up and down the ice.      Sophie, Madi, Spencer & Ashlynn were strong in front of their own net on Defense.  Keep it up Sabres, your hard work is paying off.  Your coaches were very happy with your effort today!  

     The Sabres have played some strong games of late as they continue to improve their skills!  Jaron has made some dynamite saves (like the one in this photo) and Sophie & Leighton netted their 1st goals of the year!  The Forwards are back-checking and putting pressure on the puck in their opponent's end and the Defense are beginning to carry the puck into the offensive zone.  Keep working hard Sabres, your improvement has been fun to watch!  

     The Sabres hosted the South Bruce Blades in an exciting exhibition game last night in Wallace.  Jaron had his best game of the season in net-making several tough saves followed up by a puck freeze.  Madi, Sophie & Leighton stood tall on defence and the forwards capitalized on some timely rebounds.  Blake also scored a very nice breakaway wrister.  Keep working hard Sabres!
